Linear Integration Troubleshooting

Having issues with the Linear integration? Here's how to fix common problems.

Connection Issues

"Unable to connect to Linear"

1. Check your Linear access

   • You need to be an admin in your Linear workspace
   • Go to Linear > Settings > Workspace Settings to verify

2. Re-authorize the connection

   • Go to Scrummy Settings > Integrations
   • Click Disconnect next to Linear
   • Click Connect and re-authorize

3. Check Linear's status

   • Visit Linear's status page

"Invalid or expired token"

Your authorization has expired. Re-connect:

1. Go to Settings > Integrations
2. Click Reconnect next to Linear

Sync Issues

Cycles not appearing

1. Verify cycle exists

   • Check that cycles are enabled in your Linear team
   • Make sure the cycle has issues assigned

2. Check team selection

   • In Scrummy, verify the correct Linear team is selected
   • You may need to re-select after adding new teams

Issues not syncing

1. Wait for sync

   • Syncs happen every 15 minutes
   • Click Sync Now to force an immediate sync

2. Check issue assignment

   • Issues must be assigned to the selected cycle
   • Unassigned issues won't appear

Blockers not detected

Blockers are detected when:

• Issue has "Blocked" label
• Issue has "blockedBy" relationship
• Issue is in "Blocked" workflow state
• Comments mention blocker keywords

Tip: Add a "Blocked" label in Linear for best results.

Permission Issues

"Insufficient permissions"

You need these Linear permissions:

• Read issues and cycles
• Read team settings
• Read labels and states

Ask your Linear admin to grant these if needed.

Can't see certain teams

You can only sync teams you have access to in Linear. Contact your Linear admin for access.

Data Issues

Incorrect sprint data

1. Verify cycle dates

   • Check start/end dates in Linear
   • Dates sync from Linear directly

2. Clear cache

   • Go to Settings > Integrations > Linear
   • Click Clear Cache

Missing story points

1. Check estimate field

   • Scrummy uses Linear's estimate field
   • Ensure estimates are set on issues

2. Verify estimate display

   • Go to Linear > Settings > Issues
   • Enable "Show estimates"
