Linear Integration

Connect your Linear workspace to Scrummy for seamless two-way sync of issues, sprints, and blockers.

Prerequisites

  • A Linear account with admin access to the workspace
  • A Scrummy account on the Startup or Pro plan
  • Admin or Owner role in your Scrummy workspace

Setting Up the Integration

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Find Linear and click Connect
  3. You will be redirected to Linear to authorize Scrummy
  4. Grant the requested permissions
  5. Select the Linear team you want to sync with
  6. Click Save

Features

Sprint Sync

Your Linear cycles are automatically synced as sprints in Scrummy. This includes:

  • Cycle start and end dates
  • Issues assigned to the cycle
  • Issue status and progress

Blocker Detection

Scrummy automatically detects blocked issues from Linear:

  • Issues marked as Blocked surface in your standups
  • Blockers appear in your retrospective context
  • At-risk items are flagged in your sprint health dashboard

Issue Linking

Link retrospective action items directly to Linear issues:

  1. During a retrospective, click Link Issue on any card
  2. Search for a Linear issue by title or identifier
  3. The linked issue will show status updates in Scrummy

Real-Time Data

  • View cycle progress and velocity in real-time
  • See completed vs remaining issues during retrospectives
  • Track sprint burndown alongside retro insights

Sync Settings

Configure what gets synced:

Disconnecting

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Click Disconnect next to Linear
  3. Confirm the disconnection

Note: Disconnecting does not delete previously synced data.

Troubleshooting

Authorization Failed

  • Make sure you have admin access to the Linear workspace
  • Try clearing your browser cookies and reconnecting

Issues Not Syncing

  • Verify the correct Linear team is selected in settings
  • Check that the cycle is active and has assigned issues
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration

Cycle Data Missing

  • Only active and recently completed cycles are synced
  • Archived cycles are not imported
